It comes on the heels of the release of a sobering report by the Global Preparedness and Monitoring Board that also called for urgent action in this area.
According to the report, investments in preparedness would only cost US$ 5 per person annually, whereas the cost of this pandemic is already over US$ 11 trillion and counting.

Briefings in preparation for the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body
The Bureau of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body (INB) towards a convention, agreement or other international instrument on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response (the pandemic accord) is convening two briefings to Member States (7 February) and to relevant stakeholders (15 February).
The purpose of these briefings is to inform Member States and relevant stakeholders on the development, approach and structure of the Zero Draft of the pandemic accord, as well as to provide a proposal from the Bureau regarding modalities for the fourth meeting of the INB (INB4) (scheduled to take place from 27 February to 3 March 2023) and INB5 (3 to 6 April 2023).
